Dr. El Sayed is an endocrinologist, the Chairwoman of DEFA (Diabetes Education For All), Vice President, healthcare improvement at the American Diabetes Association (ADA). Dr. El Sayed is a practicing endocrinologist in Boston, MA and faculty at Harvard Medical School. Dr. El Sayed received her M.D. / M.B.B. Ch from Alexandria University, Egypt. She completed both her Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at Boston University’s Roger Williams Medical Center and a Clinical/Research Fellowship in Obesity & Diabetes at the Joslin Diabetes Center. She then completed her clinical training in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism and was honored as a Friedman Fellow at Tufts Medical Center, Tufts Medical School. Dr. El Sayed holds multiple certificates in Clinical Investigation and Medical Education from Harvard Medical School and the Sackler School of Biomedical Sciences at Tufts University. She also holds a Master in the Science of Medical Education from Harvard Medical School with a focus on implementation of multimodal programs in healthcare workforces. She is currently completing a PhD degree in Health Education Science at MGH-IHP (Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions) with a focus on guideline implementation, complexity science, multimodal interventions that result in behavior change in health professions and educational leadership. She has over a decade experience in combined diabetes and quality improvement professional education and training programs nationally and internationally. Her research interests include lifestyle medicine, guideline implementation, educational technology, system level assessments, complexity science, equity in academia and social determinants of health. |

Ahmed El-Nazer is a seasoned program manager and data architect with over 15 years of experience. He began his professional career working in the financial markets and investing and has spent the last decade working as a program manager helping some of the largest education and healthcare systems in the United States implement, deploy and manage mission critical enterprise software systems. Ahmed has helped to drive increased operational performance through process excellence, leveraging the power of data and information from systems which lead to greater transparency and improved decision making. He is a passionate problem solver who enjoys taking complex and sometimes ambiguous assignments and partnering with key stakeholders to maximize value creation from the deployment of new technology systems to organizational initiatives via strong communication and interpersonal skills used to interact and collaborate with executives, senior leaders, associates, vendors, clients, and other third parties. |
Wanna Charlot, MHA |
Wanna Charlot received her Bachelors in Nutritional Sciences, with a minor in Chemistry from Howard University, Washington, DC. Wanna has always had a passion for health, wellness and medical education. After graduating, she joined the U.S. Peace Corps as an HIV/AIDS Outreach volunteer in Mpumalanga Province, South Africa. Wanna conducted a community needs assessment for the rural area and developed HIV/AIDS education programs for the youth, led several awareness campaigns and guided the local clinic on how to increase HIV/AIDS testing rates. Wanna has over 10 years of experience in training and program development/management in regard to medical education. Her recent professional experiences include Project Management at Joslin Diabetes Center and more recently Manager of Clinical Education and Training at Commonwealth Care Alliance. Wanna is a recent graduate of Suffolk University, Boston, where she obtained her Masters degree in Healthcare Administration. Amira ElSayed, MBA |
Amira ElSayed received her Bachelors in Business with a major in Finance from the Arab Academy for Science and Technology (AAST), Alexandria, Egypt. She began her professional career working in the financial department at the regional head office of Unilever Mashreq company followed by joining the HR department where she was a training and development specialist. Amira continued her education to obtain a Master’s degree in Business administration from the (AAST) as well as a Bachelor degree in the Arabic Language from the University of Cairo, Egypt. Amira has a strong commitment to community service and development that began by being involved in her family's philanthropic pursuits in upper Egypt which focused on expanding clean water and education access along with offering grants and fellowships related to the medical field. Amira sought to employ her knowledge of business administration within a humanitarian context. She began working closely with the WHO regional office for the Eastern Mediterranean Region, which was not only fulfilling for her philanthropic passions but also allowed her to gain valuable work experience within a health setting. During her time with the WHO, she took part in an Anti-tobacco Awareness Campaign which aimed to combat the increasing popularity of tobacco smoking amongst university students. Furthermore, to expand on her HR development and training expertise, Amira undertook the role of training and development specialist at the Association of Management Advisors (AMA) which centered on youth development in Alexandria. Over the course of her involvement, Amira was integral in the workshops, sessions and training tracks held and organized by the AMA to help a pool of over 500 students and recent graduates from different campuses gain business experience and acquire leadership organizing skills. Amira utilized her knowledge of the Arabic language to become a certified Arabic teacher especially pertaining to the Arabic education of non-native speakers. This ensured that she has the ability to work and employ her knowledge of both the English and the Arabic languages in multicultural settings and priming her for more diverse philanthropic work. |
